Questions and answers with a live Telegram discussion to follow on our ‘Sun Tzu’ Beta Version
We understand the migration from demo STX usage to real STX usage is exciting. The change has prompted many great questions on the best use of the platform, new rules, features and functionality, so we’re pleased to answer your questions.
Keep in mind, we’ll host a live question and answer session today from 1pm — 3pm UTC, over our Telegram channel. Our Product team and Community Managers will be online and ready to help you questions on the new platform and how to use it.
First, here are the top questions we received from our Community since the soft launch. After the questions and answers, we’ve provided a video tutorial on how to operate the Sun Tzu version with ease.
As highlighted in our Product Overview, here are some key points on the new version and how it works:
- Upon registration, each user will receive 5 tokens to begin making predictions, allowing new and existing users the ability to try out our product, risk free.
- An STX wallet will be created on the Blockchain and assigned to the user, from the Account page.
- In order to participate in predictions and win prizes, the user needs to transfer STX tokens from the personal wallet created for them. The more STX placed on a correct prediction will have a higher payout than lower amounts of STX placed on a correct prediction.
- The Wallet is a Smart Contract that will be used to receive STX, distribute profit or allow the user to withdraw STX to their personal wallet.
This means there will be changes to our tournament rules. In addition, these specific elements will undergo changes from their current use or application:
- Balance
- Now shows the balance used for placing predictions, visible and located on the blockchain.
- User can’t withdraw the amount currently placed on a prediction.
- The prediction winnings will be calculated in relation to the number of STX placed on the prediction.
2. Brain Power Points
- These points will be gathered in what we call the Brain Power points balance, and can be converted in the future to prizes or Real STX coins, depending on the case or promotion.
- The Leaderboard is based on the Brain Power points balance.
3. Deposits and Withdrawals of real STX tokens
- Users open a wallet and deposit and withdraw real STX in order to make predictions.
- All real STX deposited to your Stox wallet will be returned to you at the end of each month, whether you win or lose your prediction. Your STX tokens will be returned to you at the end of the month. For regular predictions, you will be rewarded with Brain Power points, which will contribute to your place on the Leaderboard. When you predict incorrectly, you will receive your STX tokens back to your account at the end of the month, but you will not earn Brain Power points.
- Some predictions offer STX tokens and other company’s tokens as prizes. For those predictions, which are found in the ICO Predictions Category, prizes for correct predictions are paid out in real STX and other tokens if you place on the Leaderboard.
Q1: How long will it take to withdraw my STX?
Withdrawals currently take up to 48 hours during the business week. Withdrawals are processed from Sundays — Thursdays.
Q2: If I lose a prediction, can I still withdraw the STX?
STX tokens staked in a prediction are locked until the prediction closes. Once closed, and the outcome date has passed, you will receive your STX back to your account.
Q3: If I win BP for the Champions League, will it count for the Stox Cup III?
If you win for the Champions League, the Brain Power points will count toward both Leaderboards. However, if you win for the Stox Cup III, it is only applied to the Stox Cup III Leaderboard.
Q4: What happened to all my old predictions?
The predictions have been removed. The predictions with an outcome date that extended beyond the launch date of Sun Tzu are the BlitzPredict and FintruX predictions. You can see the outcomes of those predictions here.
Q5: Am I able to deposit STX straight from an exchange?
You need to deposit STX to your personal ETH wallet, and from your ETH wallet you can send STX tokens to your internal STX wallet.
Q6: Why do I continue to receive an unknown error, or invalid error when I try to log in?
We suggest clearing your cache and cookies, then trying again. If you experience this issue often, please contact us at support@stox.com
Q7: Can I deposit real STX in my account risk free?
Yes. You can deposit as many STX tokens as you wish to your STX smart contract wallet. No matter if you win or lose your prediction(s), at the end of every month your STX will be returned to you.
Q8: How do I transfer my STX tokens from KuCoin to my Stox smart contract wallet?
We are very happy to be listed on the KuCoin exchange. In order to transfer STX tokens, you’ll need to transfer them from KuCoin to a service such as MyEtherWallet, and from there to your Stox smart contract wallet.
Q9: Do I get more BP if I predict earlier than later?
No, but potentially in the future, there will be features that will favor the early predictors.
Q10: Will I receive more BP points if I predict with a higher amount of STX tokens?
Yes, the amount of tokens you stake is directly correlated to the amount of STX tokens used to predict, if you predict correctly.
Q11: How many confirmations will it take for my STX to show up in my account?
Generally it takes between 12–16 confirmations. It may take more when the system is encountering large deposit volume.
Q12: Will I be able to change my wallet, and/or send my STX to other places?
Currently, you cannot change your listed wallet manually. You must contact support@stox.com and request to re-enter your correct wallet details.
Q13: Champions League matches are usually on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, could the team try paying out the Tuesday wins before the Wednesday games start? I know it’s all manual for now but it’s possible, that way we will be able to use more Stox per prediction.
We’d like to be able to release them as soon as the they close, but given these are done manually, it is difficult to guarantee that all would be done on time. We are actively working toward this solution.
