Welcome to Ask Stox #8
Here are the questions received over the month since our last #AskStox session. Please join us at 1pm UTC for the discussion on the information in our Telegram group.
- Stox, do you plan to apply for DLT license in Gibraltar, where your company is registered? I think you must otherwise you must leave Gib. OR Did you apply already?
We do not require a DLT licence, as we do not fall under that category of business of a financial services provider that conducts the business of “storing or transmitting value belonging to others”. We are currently reviewing the status of all our licences and their applicability relating to decentralised blockchain technology, and will proceed with those necessary to the legal requirements.
2. Why you did not participate or have a speaker at Gibfin Conference, when you being based in Gibraltar?
We attend conferences that best suit our strategic marketing plan, not due to geographic location.
3. What are those transactions? https://etherscan.io/tx/0xb20bf9fffdd17eaf2c5dd189f0e703ac00df2c4fa14ebd1187ef7377dfd01b4a

These are transactions from our vesting wallet. We have answered this question several times in discussions in our Telegram group. These wallets are for moving STX tokens for those in our vesting program.
4. I have seen the same updates there that are posted in this channel (speaks about traders chat). I am not sure that posted updates make much difference to that channel’s traffic. If the Stox token has lost approximately 67% of it’s value in USD and the value of ETH has risen approximately 12x in comparison since ICO and considering that the majority of this drop in value happened before the January market downturn, perhaps there is not much left about the token price and trade to discuss — regardless of regularly posted updates? Perhaps drops in value like the one Stox has experienced cause people considering entering the market to be hesitant to do so? Since the other channel is currently inactive, I’ll ask it here, instead. The questions I am asking here are bannable, perhaps, but I still think it’s worthwhile discussion.
We’re not really sure what your question is — If you don’t like the conversation in the traders channel, you don’t have to follow it. As far as price is concerned, it is determined by demand, not by anything in particular we do or do not do. We are focused on building the best prediction markets platform and are sure demand will follow.
5. I’ve read the email sent out concerning the Changelly partnership. Most reputable companies would not choose to have a gif image in an important announcement such as this…does Stox believe this is a good practice to use to attract attention to their product?
Noted. We try different things with our emails and the feedback is usually positive on the information we send.
6. I want to ask about the gambling licence that Stox acquired — how will this be used? What is the plan with it ? There are other prediction markets which do not plan on acquiring it, and they can still make predictions.
We are in risk free mode and are continuing to develop our platform in this manner. Our intent with the licences is to be covered in certain jurisdictions where they may be required when we move to a risk model.
Last but not least, our new UI for the Sun Tzu version has been released. Here’s a look at our new prediction design, history information and updated account info.
Our new prediction layout allows for a cleaner design flow with prediction markets categorized for easy searching.
The new prediction market design allows for a more clear layout with information about each prediction including the closing time.
Multiple answer predictions now have a breakdown of predictions by answer. In addition, we added a view to the place prediction window showing the projected payout in Brain Power points.
The My Predictions view has undergone some changes as a result of our STX HODLr’s feedback, and now you have easy access to information on the predictions you placed.
The My Account page has been updated with a new design flow for an easier ‘at a glance’ view, and the addition of the Withdrawal button for easy access.
Last, the history page has been expanded to show more detailed information on past predictions made.
